The most often asked question/request during my campaign was whether I would continue the weekly newsletter begun by Councilor Peterson. Yes! These weekly reminders about upcoming meetings and events in the community help to keep everyone engaged and knowledgeable - and organized.

Also, make sure that you are signed up for information from City Hall. Go to the Notify Me page (https://www.salem.com/subscribe) on the city’s website, scroll through the list of topics, and select the ones about which you would like to receive regular information.

The city provides lots of information and updates from departments, and more emphasis is being put on updating residents on new programs, grants, events, and other city news. The problem is how to get all of this information to you. So much is pushed out through social media platforms, but only a small percentage of residents regularly use social media. Some residents don’t have access to a computer on a regular basis, if at all. It’s something I am focused on, not only for information for residents of Ward 3, but for the rest of the city as well. If you have ideas, let me know!
